Matchbox Twenty frontman Rob Thomas plans to release his second solo album, tentatively titled Cradle Songs, next year. He says the set will include percussion courtesy of South American and African musicians: "It gave us a whole new bed to work with, like 'How do I get my pop sensibility around this and work it into that?'" Meanwhile, Rob says the rest of Matchbox Twenty will probably start on a new album while he is doing solo dates. Billboard.com
Coldplay Plug Into New Guitar HeroColdplay's "Shiver" and Linkin Park's "What I've Done" are among the 86 master tracks featured in Guitar Hero: World Tour's on-disc set list. Available Oct. 26 for Xbox 360, PlayStation and Nintendo Wii, the game also includes songs from No Doubt ("Spiderwebs"), Bon Jovi ("Livin' on a Prayer"), Jimmy Eat World ("The Middle"), Lenny Kravitz ("Are You Gonna Go My Way") and Oasis ("Some Might Say").
Lifehouse: We Saw West Airport Incident
Lifehouse bassist Bryce Soderberg tells fans in a new post that the band witnessed the headline-making tussle between rapper Kanye West and a member of the paparazzi Wednesday at Los Angeles International Airport. "We were so close that a piece [of the photographer's camera] actually flew right by our sound engineer's face," Bryce writes. Meanwhile, the video for Lifehouse's single "Broken," which was directed by 24 star Kiefer Sutherland, will be airing on VH1 soon.
